Let Greater Raleigh roll out the Red Carpet for your next meeting
|
The Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau (GRCVB) wants to make your next meeting one to remember. Our community understands the importance of visitor spending-and also saving!
As a way of welcoming groups to our area, GRCVB has designed an incentive program to help meeting attendees make the most of their visits, while saving money and taking advantage of some great offers form our local businesses. Upon booking a qualified meeting through the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau, attendees will receive a SmartCard.
Facts about the SmartCard program:
The SmartCard is the sister card of the ZSpotCard. GRCVB initiated the project with ZSpotlight in 2008. Main objectives were: to cater to convention attendees coming into town with significant offers and specials, create a "green" incentive program that would eliminate individual paper coupons (which are very cumbersome to collect and distribute) and help encourage more convention spending in area restaurants and service providers, while allowing the local businesses to identify a cardholder as an out-of-towner.
To date the SmartCard boasts more than 230 special offers throughout Wake County.
GRCVB has distributed over 175,000 complimentary cards to incoming conventions and sporting groups.
If an organization books an event through the GRCVB, it too can get the SmartCard.
Meeting planners have the ability to promote the SmartCard program on the preregistration website of their respective incoming conventions.
The SmartCard helps our area businesses identify GRCVB-serviced groups… much like a referral program.
Area hotels may also use the SmartCard to service their in-hotel meetings; they purchase the cards at a discount through the GRCVB.
The SmartCard/ZSpotCard partnership model continues to expand its network and is now popping up in other cities around the state, as well as in Myrtle Beach. So not only will the card save attendees money inside of Wake County, but it will continue to yield savings through discounts in other destinations.
It's like a modern-day Entertainment Book, except one no longer needs to lug around a heavy book of coupon offers. Now, discounts can be looked-up on the go, via any handheld mobile device or computer, then, all one has to do is show his or her SmartCard.
Currently, it is also FREE for any business to submit an offer to the program…. It's a win-win for all involved!
As our area continues to grow, we hope this program will mature to become an
exceptional resource to all Wake County visitors, helping to showcase our area's exceptional quality-of-life, its numerous dining and nightlife options, as well as promoting our attractions and events-which help make Greater Raleigh a premier business and leisure destination.
